Real Projects, Real Skills

Our students don't just learn theory. They work on actual working capital analysis projects that mirror what you'd encounter in Australian businesses right now.

Each project is designed around real financial scenarios—evaluating liquidity positions, optimising cash conversion cycles, and making recommendations that matter. You'll build a portfolio that shows employers you can handle the work from day one.

Students completing our program in late 2025 and throughout 2026 will have tackled projects ranging from retail cash flow optimization to manufacturing inventory analysis. And they'll have mentor feedback to prove it.

Projects You'll Complete

These aren't cookie-cutter assignments. Each project introduces new complexity and requires you to apply multiple financial concepts simultaneously.

Cash Flow Forecasting Model

Build a 12-month cash flow forecast for a mid-sized retail business. You'll work with historical data, seasonal patterns, and growth assumptions to create actionable projections.

This project teaches you how to spot warning signs early and communicate financial risks to non-financial stakeholders.

Duration: 3 weeks
Difficulty: Intermediate
Tools: Excel, Power BI

Working Capital Optimization

Analyse a manufacturing company's working capital cycle and identify bottlenecks. You'll recommend specific changes to inventory management, payment terms, and receivables collection.

Students who completed this in March 2025 said it was the most challenging—and most rewarding—project in the program.

Duration: 4 weeks
Difficulty: Advanced
Tools: Excel, Python

Liquidity Ratio Dashboard

Create an interactive dashboard that tracks key liquidity metrics for a service business. You'll automate data updates and build alerts for threshold breaches.

This project is all about making complex data accessible and actionable for decision-makers who need answers quickly.

Duration: 2 weeks
Difficulty: Beginner
Tools: Tableau, Excel

Credit Policy Analysis

Evaluate a company's current credit policy and propose improvements. You'll assess the trade-off between sales growth and collection risk, and present your findings to simulated stakeholders.

This one tests your ability to balance competing priorities—something you'll do constantly in the real world.

Duration: 3 weeks
Difficulty: Intermediate
Tools: Excel, PowerPoint

You Won't Work Alone

Every project comes with mentor support. And we're not talking about automated feedback or generic comments. You'll get detailed reviews from people who've done this work professionally.

Callum spent eight years in corporate finance before moving into education. He's the one who'll tell you when your assumptions don't hold up—and why that matters. Ingrid worked in treasury management for Australian retail chains, so she knows exactly what hiring managers look for in candidate portfolios.

They review your work within 48 hours. Usually faster. And if something isn't clear, you can book a call to talk through it. Some students do this weekly. Others only when they're stuck. Both approaches work fine.
